There are wonderful contradictions in Kent Larson's work. An unusually refined sense of composition and color adorns structure built of childishly simple symbol-forms.

Kent Larson has the eye of a naturalist, historian, ethnologist, entomologist and botanist. Ants roam on chunks of prickly pear cactus. Mimes enact skits; Huns ride catfish.

The works comprising this exhibit ooze personality. They are at once friendly yet somehow slightly sinister, playful and serious they allude to the world we know, while leaving its reality far behind.
